Product Identity

Build And Fit

Each nut measures 3/4 in across the flats and 7/16 in thick with a zinc-plated finish. The right-hand threads conform to ASME B 18.2.2 standards and the material hardness falls between Rockwell C19 and C30 for reliable clamping.

Critical Specification

The thread specification is 1/2"-13 UNC Grade 5; verify that the mating bolt matches this diameter, pitch and strength class before purchasing. Buyers needing a different thread pitch, metric sizing or a higher property class such as Grade 8 should select another part.

Questions about this item

What thread standard does the 1/2"-13 UNC hex nut follow?

It follows the ASME B 18.2.2 dimensional standard with a right-hand thread direction.

What wrench size and clearance does the 3/4 in hex width need?

A 3/4 in wrench or socket is required, and the nut stands 7/16 in tall once seated.

How are the Grade 5 steel nuts installed and what torque mistake should be avoided?

Thread onto a 1/2"-13 bolt by hand, then tighten with a 3/4 in wrench to the Grade 5 torque spec; over-torquing risks stripping threads or exceeding the C19 to C30 hardness limit.
