ZyXEL GS-108B 8-Port Gigabit Switch

The ZyXEL GS-108B is an 8-port desktop Gigabit switch built for small offices or home networks needing reliable wired connectivity. It suits users expanding a router's limited LAN ports for PCs, printers, NAS devices or smart TVs. It is not for installers requiring Power over Ethernet, managed features like VLANs or link aggregation, or rackmount form factors.

Non-blocking 2000 Mbps per port capacity

Each port negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps and the non-blocking fabric delivers up to 2000 Mbps full-duplex throughput per port. Store-and-forward switching ensures error-free packet delivery with low latency. The switch runs out of headroom when aggregate traffic exceeds the internal fabric limit or when advanced traffic shaping is required.

Plug-and-play desktop operation

The metal enclosure supports silent fanless operation on a desk or shelf. Auto MDI/MDIX and auto-negotiation remove the need for crossover cables or manual configuration. LEDs show link, activity and speed status per port. No software bundle or management utility is included.

Questions about this item

Will the GS-108B's 10/100/1000Mbps ports auto-negotiate with my older 100Mbps devices?

Yes, each port supports 10, 100 and 1000Mbps speeds and will automatically negotiate the highest common rate with connected equipment.

How can I verify the switch is delivering the full 2000Mbps per-port throughput in full-duplex mode?

The front-panel LEDs show link speed and activity per port; a steady 1000Mbps indicator with low collision counts confirms full-duplex operation.

Does the GS-108B package include a power adapter and mounting brackets?

The desktop switch ships with an external power adapter; rack-mount brackets are not included and must be sourced separately if needed.
