8-port Gigabit PoE+ switch for small deployments

The ZyXEL GS19158EP is an 8-port Gigabit switch that delivers PoE+ on every port with a total budget of 60 W. It targets prosumers, small businesses and chain stores that need to power a few access points or IP cameras without a separate injector. Layer 2 management and Nebula cloud control are included at no extra licence cost.

Wall-mountable design with external power adapter

The unit mounts on a wall and draws power from an included adapter, consuming up to 72 W at the wall while reserving 60 W for PoE devices. All eight RJ-45 ports support 10/100/1000Base-T over twisted pair, so the switch fits into existing copper cabling without requiring fibre uplinks or additional expansion slots.

Nebula cloud app enables remote power cycling

The bundled power cord, adapter and wall-mount kit complete the physical installation. Nebula’s web interface and mobile app let administrators configure VLANs, link aggregation and QoS, and also reset a misbehaving camera by cycling its PoE port remotely, reducing on-site visits for basic troubleshooting.

Questions about this item

How many powered devices can the 60 W PoE budget support before ports start dropping power?

The switch delivers up to 60 W total across its eight PoE+ ports; each port can supply 30 W, so two ports at full 30 W or several lower-power devices will reach the budget limit.

Does the 72 W power draw mean the unit runs hot or needs active cooling when all ports are loaded?

The 72 W consumption includes PoE output; the metal enclosure is fanless and designed for silent wall-mount operation, so heat is dissipated passively even at full load.

What must already be in place to manage the switch through Nebula cloud?

A Nebula account and internet connectivity are required; the switch is configured via web browser or mobile app with no extra controller hardware needed.
