Smart chargers of 4 A or 6 A that switch between 6 V and 12 V suit SLA and AGM batteries, with float modes that hold the charge without overcharging; on small batteries, stay within the maximum charge current printed on the label. Lithium packs often rely on a battery management system (BMS) that balances cells and protects against overcurrent. When joining batteries, use the same type, age and capacity, and wire in series for more voltage or in parallel for more capacity. Can I use any charger on my battery?
