Questions about this item

Does the 2048703696 Comand receiver draw noticeable power when the car sits for days?

The unit is a direct replacement for the factory radio and consumes only the normal standby current of the original Comand system, so it will not drain a healthy battery during typical parking periods.

What existing wiring or interfaces must the vehicle already have for this 2048703696 unit to function?

Your C-Class must already be equipped with the Comand system and the matching fibre-optic data bus; the receiver plugs into the original harness and uses the existing antenna, speaker and power connections.

Will the 2048703696 receiver work with the original steering-wheel controls and fibre-optic amplifier in a 2008 C-Class?

Yes, it retains the factory steering-wheel buttons and communicates over the existing fibre-optic network to the original amplifier, provided the vehicle already has the Comand option.
