Premium 7 Radio for 2006-2009 VW

This professionally remanufactured OEM receiver replaces the factory Premium 7 unit in Volkswagen Jetta and Rabbit models from 2006 through 2009. It carries part number 1K0035161B and matches the original AM FM MP3 CD player functionality. Dealer unlocking is required before the radio will operate in your vehicle.

Owners needing exact Premium 7 replacement

This unit suits owners who currently have the Premium 7 system installed and need a direct swap for a failed radio. Buyers without the Premium 7 version in their car should look elsewhere, as differing data streams will prevent coding. Vehicles using external amplifiers or other radio configurations also cannot use this part.

Part number 1K0035161B confirms fit

The single specification that decides compatibility is the part number 1K0035161B printed on your existing radio. If your current unit does not display this exact number, the replacement will likely not work even if the connectors appear identical. Always verify the part number before ordering.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Premium 7 radio is working after the dealer unlocks and pairs it to my VIN?

After dealer programming, the unit should power on, display the station or track information, play AM, FM and MP3 CDs through all speakers, and retain settings when the ignition is cycled.

What comes with the 28076782 unit and what must I obtain separately?

The box contains the remanufactured Premium 7 head unit only; the dealer unlock code and any required wiring adapters or mounting hardware are not included and must be sourced separately.

How do I know whether my Jetta or Rabbit needs the Premium 7 version 1K0035161B instead of another radio?

Match the part number 1K0035161B on your current radio; if your vehicle uses a different part number or a non-Premium-7 system, this unit will not function correctly.
