2005 Ford Freestyle factory radio

This professionally remanufactured OEM unit replaces the original AM/FM MP3 six-disc head unit in the 2005 Ford Freestyle. It carries part number 5F9T-18C815-GB and interchange number 638-02285. No dealer code is required for installation. The radio is sold as a direct replacement only.

Bluetooth audio streaming capacity

Bluetooth lets you stream music from a paired phone through the factory speakers and controls. The system does not support hands-free calling because phone manufacturers route voice audio to dedicated Bluetooth microphone profiles that this head unit lacks. Audio playback works normally for stored tracks and streaming apps.

Six-disc changer mechanical limit

The internal magazine holds up to six CDs or MP3 discs and cycles them through a single transport mechanism. Disc changes take several seconds and the mechanism can jam if media is warped or damaged. Buyers who want larger libraries or faster track access need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Will the 5F9T-18C815-GB unit plug into the existing wiring harness in my 2005 Ford Freestyle without an adapter?

This part number is a direct replacement for the factory radio in the 2005 Ford Freestyle and uses the original connector; no adapter harness is required if the vehicle already has this exact part number installed.

How can I confirm the Bluetooth audio streaming is functioning correctly after installation?

Pair a phone, start music playback and verify sound comes through all vehicle speakers; the supplier notes the unit does not support phone calls, so only media audio will route via Bluetooth.

Does the 5F9T-18C815-GB package include a mounting bracket, antenna adapter or any installation hardware?

The listing describes the radio itself as a replacement-only unit; no bracket, antenna adapter, wiring harness or trim pieces are mentioned as included, so plan to reuse the original hardware or source them separately.
