Factory Radio 6G1T-18C815-BC AM FM 6 CD Bluetooth

This professionally remanufactured OEM unit replaces the factory radio in 2006 to 2007 Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego models. It delivers AM FM reception, six-disc CD playback and integrated Bluetooth audio streaming. The part number 6G1T-18C815-BC must match the original equipment exactly for proper fit and function.

Who this fits and who it does not

This radio suits owners of the listed Ford and Mercury vehicles who need a direct replacement with Bluetooth added. It will not work in other model years, trim levels or vehicles that use a different part number or data protocol. Buyers without the exact part number 6G1T-18C815-BC currently installed should verify compatibility before purchase.

Matching part number 6G1T-18C815-BC

The single specification that decides fitment is the part number 6G1T-18C815-BC printed on the original radio. If your vehicle does not carry this exact number, the unit will likely not communicate with the vehicle data bus. No code is required after installation when the part number matches.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 6G1T-18C815-BC radio in my 2006 Ford Five Hundred and what step is often missed?

Remove the factory unit, connect the harness matching part number 6G1T-18C815-BC, secure the radio in the dash and pair your phone using the Bluetooth button; the step often missed is confirming the exact part number matches before installation because data streams differ between similar-looking units.

What maintenance or replacement will this remanufactured head unit need later?

The CD mechanism may eventually require laser-lens cleaning or full drive replacement if discs skip, and the Bluetooth module can be serviced separately if pairing fails after years of use.

What limit appears first during long drives with this 6G1T-18C815-BC receiver?

Extended play can cause the internal amplifier to thermal-limit, lowering output volume until the chassis cools.
