Direct Replacement Unit

This professionally remanufactured OEM radio carries part number 86201AJ64A and is built for 2010-2012 Subaru Legacy models. It restores AM FM reception, MP3 playback and single-disc CD operation with satellite capability. The faceplate reference is PE645U1 and the internal reference is CQ-1860VD. Minor cosmetic wear is present but the unit is in full working order.

Part-Number Locked Compatibility

The radio will only function in vehicles that originally shipped with the exact 86201AJ64A part number. Different data streams or external amplifier configurations prevent interchange even when connectors appear identical. No programming code is required but the part-number match is mandatory for correct operation.

Verify Before Ordering

Confirm the part number printed on your current radio matches 86201AJ64A before purchasing. If the label is missing or unclear, use the vehicle VIN to determine the correct unit. Buyers needing Bluetooth, AUX input or a different model-year fitment cannot use this replacement.

Questions about this item

Should I order the 86201AJ64A unit or a different part number for my 2010-2012 Subaru Legacy?

Only the 86201AJ64A part number is correct; the description states that if you do not have this exact part number currently in your vehicle it will likely not work due to different data streams and external amp configurations.

What does the satellite-ready label mean for daily use in my Legacy?

The unit has satellite capability built in, so you can connect a compatible SiriusXM tuner and antenna to receive satellite radio without replacing the head unit.

Does the PE645U1 faceplate use a standard DIN connector or a proprietary Subaru interface?

It uses the factory Subaru connector and data bus for the 2010-2012 Legacy; the listing warns that even units with identical plugs may not communicate if the part number differs.
