Fitment and exclusions

Owners of a 2008 Ford Edge or Lincoln MKX with the exact part number or one of the listed compatible part numbers can use this receiver. Vehicles that use an external amplifier or a different data-stream configuration will not work with this unit. Buyers who cannot confirm the part number from their current radio should look elsewhere.

Critical part-number match

The sole specification that decides compatibility is the part number 8A1T-18C815-AE or its listed compatible variants. If the original radio does not carry one of these numbers, the replacement will not function.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 8A1T-18C815-AE produce when running continuously?

The remanufactured radio operates silently with no moving parts beyond the CD mechanism and draws minimal current from the vehicle's electrical system.

What existing wiring or interfaces must my 2008 Ford Edge already have for the 8A1T-18C815-AE to work?

The unit plugs directly into the factory harness and antenna connector; no extra adapters or unlock codes are required.

Will the 8A1T-18C815-AE function alongside the original external amplifier if my Edge still has one?

Compatibility depends on matching the exact part number; vehicles with a factory external amp may not allow interchange even if the plugs look identical.
