Direct-Fit Climate Control Panel

The 72311AE06A temperature control panel replaces the original AC and heat module in 2000 to 2004 Subaru Baja and Legacy models. It is a professionally remanufactured OEM unit supplied without the radio or display, and it requires no coding after installation.

Consistent Operation Under Daily Use

The unit has been cleaned, serviced and thoroughly checked so that heating and air-conditioning functions perform reliably trip after trip. Minor cosmetic wear on the knobs and black face plate does not affect the panel's ability to maintain the selected temperature settings over long drives.

Straightforward Swap With One Critical Check

Installation is a direct exchange when the vehicle already carries part number 72311AE06A, but the part will likely not work if the existing number differs even though plugs appear identical. Builders who cannot confirm the exact part number from the vehicle or VIN should verify compatibility before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the 72311AE06A panel draw enough current to heat up or make noise during long drives?

The temperature control panel is a passive climate module with no amplifier or moving parts, so it produces no audible noise and negligible heat while the vehicle is running.

What existing dashboard components must already be present for the 72311AE06A to function?

Your Subaru must still have the factory radio, display and matching wiring harness in place because this unit only replaces the temperature AC heat control panel.

Will the 72311AE06A communicate correctly with the older body-control module in a 2000 Legacy?

Yes, the part number 72311AE06A is specified for 2000-2004 Baja and Legacy models, so the data stream matches the original module in those vehicles.
