Direct Replacement Module

The 1 Factory Radio Vehicle Communication Control Module 10340345 is a professionally remanufactured OEM unit built for 2003-2004 Subaru Legacy models. It arrives in 100 percent working order with no unlock code required for installation. The part carries interchange number 591-72074 and matches compatible part numbers 86411AE00B and 86411AE00A. It is sold strictly as a direct replacement for the original factory module.

Upgrade From Failed Unit

This module replaces a failed or malfunctioning factory communication control unit in the specified Legacy models. The jump is worth it when the original part number 10340345 is confirmed, because data streams differ between visually similar modules and an incorrect match will not code. External amplifier configurations in some vehicles also prevent interchange, so verification against the exact part number is essential before purchase.

For Legacy Owners With Confirmed Part Number

This unit suits 2003-2004 Subaru Legacy owners who have verified their current module carries part number 10340345 or the listed compatible numbers. Buyers who cannot confirm the exact part number from their vehicle should look elsewhere, as visual similarity and identical plugs do not guarantee compatibility. The module is not intended for other model years, other Subaru models, or vehicles with different option codes.

Questions about this item

Does the 10340345 module bolt directly into the factory dashboard opening of a 2003-2004 Subaru Legacy?

Yes, the 10340345 is a direct-fit replacement for the original Vehicle Communication Control Module in the 2003-2004 Subaru Legacy and uses the factory mounting points.

What is the critical installation step that is often missed when fitting the 10340345 unit?

You must verify the part number 10340345 or interchange 591-72074 matches the unit currently in the vehicle; identical plugs can carry different data streams and will not code.

Will the 10340345 require an unlock code or periodic software updates after installation?

No unlock code is required for the 10340345, and as a professionally remanufactured OEM module it has no user-serviceable software or scheduled maintenance items.
