Green vinyl electrical tape rated to 600 V and 105 °C for phase identification and motor-lead colour coding
This 3M 10265 Scotch tape is a green vinyl electrical tape supplied in a 20 foot roll. It is rated for 600 volts and designed for general purpose insulation. The tape suits electricians and technicians who need reliable colour coding for motor leads, piping systems or phase identification.
The tape operates continuously from 0 to 105 degrees Celsius, equivalent to 32 to 221 degrees Fahrenheit. Its rubber based adhesive maintains grip across this span without melting or becoming brittle in normal service. The 7 mil vinyl backing resists abrasion and moisture during everyday use.
Under continuous electrical load at the rated 600 volts the insulation remains stable throughout the stated temperature window. The product is not suited for applications that exceed the maximum temperature rating or require a higher voltage class. Buyers needing wider rolls, different colours or high temperature specialised tapes should select an alternative product.

Stretch the vinyl tape as you wrap, overlapping each turn by half its width, and press firmly so the rubber adhesive bonds to itself; the stretch activates the 7 mil thickness needed for the 600 V insulation rating.
Inspect the tape at each service interval; replace it if the green colour has faded, the edges curl, or the rubber adhesive feels brittle, because heat cycling above 105 °C accelerates ageing.
The rubber adhesive softens and the vinyl backing darkens before dielectric breakdown occurs, so discolouration or a tacky surface is the early warning to re-tape the joint.
