The 3M 13639 belt measures 18 inches long by 3/4 inch wide for use with compatible portable or stationary sanders. Its non-woven aluminum oxide construction resists loading while delivering a coarse-grade finish. The semi-flexible scrim backing conforms to contours without sacrificing durability. Coarse non-woven abrasive capacity

Aluminum oxide grain in a resin-bonded web removes oxidation, light scale and old coatings faster than fine-grade alternatives. The open structure sheds debris to maintain cutting action on flat or curved workpieces. Aggressive stock removal tapers off on hardened steels or when a mirror finish is required. The belt handles blending and deburring tasks where aggressive cutting is acceptable.

Scrim-backed belt interface limits

The 3/4-inch width fits only machines designed for narrow belts; wider sanders cannot accept it. Resin bond and scrim backing withstand normal heat but may degrade under continuous high-speed contact. Load resistance extends life on soft metals yet the coarse grade leaves a visible scratch pattern unsuited for final finishing. Users needing finer surfaces must switch to a different grade belt.
