Purpose & Audience

3M 2519 High Performance Flatback Tape is a brown paper packaging tape built for splicing liner boards, bundling, reinforcing, wrapping and protecting. It suits warehouse teams, shipping departments and packers who need a strong, hand-tearable tape that blends with Kraft cartons and does not require water activation.

Critical Spec

The tape measures 48 mm wide by 60 yards long and uses a pressure-sensitive adhesive on a heavy-duty paper backing. This combination delivers excellent tack and holding power while resisting moist conditions, so the seal stays secure on critical packages without the hassle of gummed tape.

Sustained Behaviour

Lower unwind tension reduces operator fatigue during high-volume sealing sessions and allows smooth feeding through machine dispensers. The proprietary adhesive maintains its grip over time, and the moisture-resistant backing prevents degradation in humid storage or transit environments.

Questions about this item

How does the 48 mm width cover a standard carton seam?

The 48 mm roll spans the full flap joint on most single-wall boxes, giving continuous reinforcement without overlapping strips.

What adhesive system does the 2519 use and how does it behave on recycled fibre?

A pressure-sensitive rubber-resin adhesive bonds instantly to Kraft and recycled linerboard without water activation and resists flagging in humid warehouses.

What core size and roll diameter should I expect for a 60 yd length?

The roll fits a standard 3 in. paper-tape core and measures roughly 5 in. outer diameter, compatible with most hand dispensers and case sealers.
