Whiteboard Eraser Pad

The 3M 581WBE eraser pad removes dry-erase marks and permanent-marker stains from whiteboards without sprays or cleaners. Each pack contains two yellow pads measuring 3.00" x 5.00" for everyday office or classroom use.

Sustained Cleaning Performance

The pad maintains consistent erasing power across repeated use on standard whiteboard surfaces. Adding water enables removal of ghosting and stubborn residue without degrading the pad material during extended cleaning sessions.

Surface Compatibility Limits

Designed for traditional whiteboard finishes, the pad works on dry-erase and permanent inks but is not suited for porous walls, chalkboards or electronic displays. Water activation helps with most permanent marks yet cannot guarantee complete removal on all coatings.

Questions about this item

How much pressure or effort does the 581 eraser pad need to remove dried-on marks after a full day of use?

The pad lifts dry-erase marks without sprays; for permanent marker stains, ghosting or residue, dampen it with water and wipe — no heavy scrubbing required.

Does the 3.00 x 5.00 inch pad work on its own or do I need a separate holder or handle?

The pad is a self-contained eraser; no holder, handle or additional accessory is required to use it on a whiteboard.

Will the 581 pad damage an older melamine whiteboard that has fine scratches?

The pad is designed for standard whiteboards; it cleans marks and residue without abrasive chemicals, so it will not worsen existing surface scratches.
