3M 6004 Ammonia & Methylamine Cartridge

The 3M 6004 is a bayonet-style air-purifying cartridge rated for ammonia and methylamine. It fits 3M 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series respirators and comes in a pack of two. The green colour code identifies the specific gas protection. Workers handling these vapours in industrial or maintenance settings use this cartridge for respiratory safety.

Suits workers exposed to ammonia or methylamine

This cartridge suits workers who need NIOSH-approved protection against ammonia and methylamine vapours. It is not for buyers who need protection against organic vapours, acid gases, formaldehyde or particulates unless a compatible pre-filter is added. Users requiring a different connection type or a higher capacity cartridge should look at other 3M configurations.

Bayonet twist locks onto compatible facepieces

Installation is a simple bayonet twist onto any 3M 6000, 7000 or FF-400 series facepiece. Alignment marks help confirm a secure seal. The most common issue is forgetting to remove the sealing caps before use, which blocks airflow. Cartridges must be replaced on schedule or when breakthrough odor is detected.

Questions about this item

Which respirator series must I already own for the 6004 cartridge to connect?

The cartridge uses a bayonet connection that fits 3M 6000 Series, 3M 7000 Series and 3M FF-400 Series respirators.

Will the green 6004 cartridge work on my existing 3M 7000 Series half-facepiece?

Yes, the bayonet interface is compatible with the 7000 Series as well as the 6000 Series and FF-400 Series.

How can I confirm the cartridge is filtering ammonia and methylamine after I install it?

Perform a user seal check; if the facepiece seals without leakage the NIOSH-approved AM/MA cartridge is functioning as intended.
