Heavy-duty floor scrubbing pads

These 3M 8410 blue pads are built for wet scrubbing and heavy-duty spray or foam cleaning on standard and automatic floor machines. Each 17-inch pad removes dirt, spills and scuffs to leave surfaces ready for recoating. The case contains five pads priced as a single unit.

Maintenance teams needing aggressive stripping

The blue 5300 series is designed for tough stripping tasks rather than daily light cleaning or polishing. Facilities that only require routine buffing or a gentler scrubbing action should consider a less aggressive pad grade.

17-inch diameter for machine compatibility

The 17-inch size must match the drive board or machine deck specified by the equipment manufacturer. Verify the machine requirement before purchase because an incorrect diameter will prevent proper installation and operation.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the 17" 5300 blue pad to my floor machine without it slipping?

Centre the pad on the machine’s drive plate or pad holder and lock it using the machine’s built-in clips or centre-lock; the common mistake is leaving the holder loose, which lets the pad shift under load.

When should I replace a pad from the 5-pack during a large stripping job?

Swap a pad when the blue fibres are worn down to the backing or when it no longer cuts through finish evenly — usually after several hundred square metres of heavy stripping.

At what point does the 5300 pad overheat or load up during continuous wet scrubbing?

The pad loads with stripped finish first; if slurry builds up and cutting slows, rinse or flip the pad — sustained high-speed runs without rinsing are the practical limit.
