General-purpose clear reclosable fastener

3M SJ3560 Dual Lock 250 is a clear reclosable fastener with 250 stems per square inch and an engaged thickness of 0.23 inches. It uses mushroom-shaped stems on a polypropylene carrier coated with white acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. The fastener is designed for bonding metals, glass, and medium-to-high surface energy plastics and paint. It replaces conventional fasteners where access or repositioning is needed.

Stem density and closure life

Type 250 stem density fasteners can mate with type 170, 250, or 400 fasteners, with higher combined numbers providing greater closure strength. Interlocking mushroom-shaped stems deliver 5X greater closure strength than hook and loop. The closure life is rated at 1,000 cycles. The 10-foot roll allows cutting custom lengths for various applications.

Adhesive and surface limits

The general-purpose acrylic adhesive bonds to metals, glass, and medium-to-high surface energy plastics and paint. Low surface energy substrates are not supported by this adhesive formulation. Applications requiring structural load ratings beyond the stem engagement strength are not addressed by this fastener system.
