Adhesive-lined polyolefin tubing shrinks 3:1 to seal and protect 16-12 AWG wires from -67 °F to 230 °F
The 3M EPS300 is a thin-wall polyolefin tube with an inner adhesive lining that bonds to wire insulation when heated. It fits wire gauges from 16 AWG to 12 AWG and shrinks from a 0.25 in inner diameter down to 0.08 in at a 3:1 ratio. The 6 in black pieces come in a 10-pack for electrical repair and automotive wiring tasks.
A minimum shrink temperature of 250 Degrees F is required to activate the adhesive and achieve full recovery. Once installed, the tubing withstands a continuous temperature range from -67 Degrees to 230 Degrees F. The material is flame retardant and resists abrasion, acids and alkalis, but the thin 0.02 in recovered wall offers limited mechanical protection against heavy impact.
This product upgrades from standard electrical tape or unlined heat shrink by adding a moisture-sealing adhesive bond that will not unravel or dry out. The jump is worth it when a permanent, environmental seal is needed on 16-12 AWG conductors in harness repairs, marine connections or automotive looms. It is not suited for wires larger than 12 AWG or for applications needing a thick-wall structural sleeve.

The product is sold as a single pack of 10 pieces, each 6 in long with a 0.25 in pre-shrink diameter that shrinks to 0.08 in.
A 3:1 ratio means the 0.25 in inside diameter shrinks down to roughly one-third, reaching 0.08 in, while the wall thickens to 0.02 in and the adhesive liner flows to seal the connection.
The tubing requires at least 250 °F to begin shrinking; once heated, the adhesive melts and bonds to wires from 16 AWG to 12 AWG, providing a seal that remains stable up to 230 °F.
