Heavy-wall adhesive-lined heat-shrink tubing with a 3:1 shrink ratio, covering 2 AWG to 4/0 AWG, shrinking from 1.1 in to .37 in with a .12 in recovered wall, 48 in long, rated from -67 °F to 230 °F
This 3M ITCSN 1100 tube is a cross-linked polyolefin sleeve with an inner adhesive liner. It suits electricians and technicians who need environmental sealing on cables from 2 AWG to 4/0 AWG. The rigid construction resists abrasion, acids, alkalis and UV exposure. Each piece is 4 ft long and ships as individual units.
The tubing shrinks from a 1.1 in inner diameter down to .37 in, recovering a .12 in wall thickness. This 3:1 ratio only works when the cable diameter falls within the stated AWG range. Continuous operation is rated from -67 Degrees to 230 Degrees F; exceeding either limit can compromise the seal or the material integrity.
A heat gun with even airflow is required to activate the adhesive and achieve full recovery. Uneven heating leaves voids in the liner and reduces mechanical protection. The rigid wall makes positioning stiff on large conductors, so align the tube before applying heat. Insufficient shrink temperature is the most frequent cause of field failures.
