3/8 in Stud Ring Terminal

Sustained-load behaviour

The copper barrel with tin finish resists oxidation during continuous operation. Brazed barrel construction maintains mechanical integrity at the maximum temperature of 221 degrees F. Crimp termination creates a stable, low-resistance joint that does not loosen under vibration.

Build quality and connectors

Barrel inside diameter is .18 in and barrel length is .31 in, matching 8 AWG conductors precisely. Tongue width of .59 in fits a 3/8 in stud securely. Nylon insulation withstands heat and chemicals encountered in industrial environments.

Questions about this item

How hot can the 3M MN8-38RX terminal get during continuous use?

The nylon insulation is rated for a maximum temperature of 221 degrees F, which sets the thermal limit for all-day operation.

What crimping tool and wire gauge are required to install this ring terminal?

You need a crimper sized for 8 AWG wire and the barrel inside diameter of .18 in to make a proper termination.

Will the .59 in tongue width fit the existing 3/8 in studs on my older bus bars?

Yes, the 3/8 in stud size matches a 3/8 in bolt, and the .59 in tongue width is standard for that hardware.
