What this fastener roll does

3M Scotch RF6760 Extreme Fasteners are hook-and-loop strips supplied in a clear 1-inch by 10-foot roll. They are designed for indoor and outdoor mounting on varnished wood, bare metal, drywall, plastic and similar sealed surfaces. The product suits homeowners and installers who need a removable hold for decorations, tools or tarps.

Installation and common issues

Application requires no tools; press the fastener onto a clean, dry surface for an immediate bond. Dirt, moisture or UV exposure on the substrate can reduce adhesion, so surface preparation is critical. The hook-and-loop design allows up to 1000 closures before the grip weakens.

Behaviour under sustained load

A single set holds up to 2 lbs, while the full roll is rated for 10 lbs of continuous weight. Weather, dirt and UV resistance help the bond maintain strength during prolonged outdoor use. The fastener releases cleanly when pulled, leaving no residue on the mounting surface.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the RF6760 fasteners are holding correctly after I apply them?

Press the strips together firmly for full contact; the bond forms on contact and each set is rated for 2 lbs. Check alignment and test the weight gently before relying on the hold.

What comes in the package and is anything else required for installation?

The box contains one 1" x 10 ft roll of clear hook-and-loop fastener. No tools, adhesives or extra hardware are needed; just ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying.

Should I choose the clear roll or the black version for outdoor mounting?

Both colours use the same RF6760 formulation and are rated for indoor and outdoor use with weather, dirt and UV resistance; pick the colour that best matches the surface or décor.
