Black 3M heat shrink tube 0.95 in diameter thin wall 4 ft length

3M

3M SFTW-203-1-48-BLACK Heat Shrink Tube 0.95 in

SKU CH-4S0R-60MJF

Thin-wall polyolefin tubing shrinks 3:1 from 0.95 in to 0.32 in, rated 600 V dielectric and -67 °F to 275 °F

  • Thin-wall polyolefin stays flexible in tight bends
  • 3:1 shrink ratio covers 4/0 AWG to 500 MCM wire sizes
  • Flame-retardant material meets 600 V dielectric strength
  • Operates from -67 °F to 275 °F for harsh environments
  • Acid and alkali resistance protects connections in corrosive settings

Heat-Shrink Tube for Heavy Cable

This 3M heat-shrink tube fits wire from 4/0 AWG up to 500 MCM. The thin-wall polyolefin sleeve starts at 0.95 in inside diameter and shrinks to 0.32 in with a 3:1 ratio. It is supplied as a single four-foot length in black for individual use.

Shrink with a Heat Gun Above 212 °F

Apply heat evenly until the tube fully recovers; the minimum shrink temperature is 212 degrees F. Uneven heating or insufficient temperature are the usual causes of incomplete recovery or wrinkled walls. The material is very flexible and flame-retardant to help avoid damage during installation.

Rated for 600 V and Extreme Temperatures

The tubing operates from minus 67 degrees up to 275 degrees F and provides 600 V dielectric strength. It resists acid and alkali exposure but has no adhesive lining, so it will not seal against moisture on its own. The recovered wall thickness is 0.04 in.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the tubing has shrunk correctly after heating?

After applying heat the inner diameter should measure 0.32 in and the wall thickness 0.04 in, indicating the 3:1 ratio has been reached.

What does the package contain and what must I supply?

The box includes individual pieces of 4 ft black polyolefin tubing; you must provide a heat source capable of at least 212 °F.

Which shrink-ratio version should I select for 4/0 AWG to 500 MCM wire?

Choose the 3:1 ratio tubing listed here; its 0.95 in pre-shrink diameter covers that wire range.
