45W HP Laptop Charger Blue Tip

This 45W AC adapter is built for HP laptops that use the blue tip 4.5mm connector. It supplies 19.5V at 2.31A to match the original power requirement. The unit replaces a long list of HP part numbers including 741727-001 and 854054-002. It suits owners of Stream, Pavilion, Spectre x360 and EliteBook models listed in the compatibility data.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The adapter runs on corded electric input and delivers a steady 45W output at 19.5 volts and 2.31 amps. No active cooling fan is mentioned so operation is silent. The brick draws only the power needed by the connected laptop. Its proprietary connector ensures a secure fit without extra adapters.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous use the charger maintains the rated 45W output without throttling. The 20V voltage rating on the label provides headroom above the 19.5V operating point. The blue tip connector stays firmly seated during extended sessions. The unit is new condition and rated for the full 45W load over time.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 4.5mm blue tip connector on my HP laptop and what step is often missed?

Align the blue tip with the 4.5mm port and push firmly until it clicks; the step often missed is confirming the laptop shows the charging indicator before assuming the connection is secure.

What maintenance or replacement will this 45W HP charger need over time?

Inspect the cord and blue tip for wear or fraying every few months; replace the unit if the connector becomes loose, the cable is damaged, or the laptop no longer charges reliably.

What limit appears first when this 45W adapter runs under sustained load?

The 45W output ceiling is reached first; if the laptop draws more than 45W during heavy use the adapter will limit current and the battery may not charge until demand drops.
