Blue Cardioid Dynamic Mic for Live Vocal Use

The 5 Core PM 286 BLU is a blue dynamic microphone with a unidirectional cardioid pickup pattern designed to capture vocals while rejecting background noise and feedback. It includes a built-in pop filter and windscreen to minimise plosives and breathing sounds for cleaner audio. A dedicated on/off switch provides direct mute control during performances. The rugged construction features a steel mesh windscreen and anti-dent ring for stage durability.

XLR to 1/4 Inch Cable Included for Direct Connection

This microphone uses a wired XLR to 1/4 inch connection type, so the single specification that decides compatibility is whether your mixer, amplifier or audio interface accepts a 1/4 inch plug. The package includes a shielded professional-grade XLR cable that provides noise rejection for quiet operation. No phantom power or batteries are required for the dynamic capsule to function.

Plug Into Mixers or PA Systems Without Extra

The supplied cable terminates in a 1/4 inch connector, letting you plug straight into compatible audio mixers, DVD players or home theatre systems that offer that input. The cardioid pattern helps isolate the speaker in loud environments such as karaoke nights, weddings or conferences. Builders who need a balanced XLR input on an audio interface cannot use this cable directly without an adapter.

Questions about this item

How does the cardioid pattern actually behave when the mic is on a stand in a live room?

The unidirectional cardioid pickup rejects sound from the sides and rear, so stage monitors and audience noise stay low while the vocalist's voice stays clear.

What does the XLR-to-1/4-inch connection limit in a typical signal chain?

The cable ends in a 1/4-inch plug, so you can plug straight into a mixer or PA channel with a 1/4-inch input, but you will need an adapter for a standard 3-pin XLR input.

What physical space does the mic need on a stand and how is it secured?

The body is built from plastic and metal with a steel mesh windscreen and anti-dent ring; it mounts on any standard mic clip or boom arm and the integrated on/off switch sits within easy reach.
