Broad Surface Compatibility

This 65W charger works with Microsoft Surface Pro models 3 through 11 including the X variant, Surface Laptop 1 through 7, Surface Book 1 through 3, and Surface Go 1 through 3. It replaces original power supplies rated at 65W, 44W or 36W for all these devices. The unit is not suitable for Surface models that require a higher wattage adapter or a different connector type.

65W Output With USB Port

The adapter delivers 15V at 4A for a total of 65W, and also supports 15V at 2.58A (44W) and 12V at 2.58A (36W) profiles for older units. A built-in USB-A port supplies 5V at 1A (5W) to charge a phone or accessory simultaneously. Maximum combined draw is limited to the brick's 65W rating, so heavy laptop loads may reduce phone charging speed.

16.2ft Cord And Protection

A 16.2ft AC power cord is included, giving generous reach between the wall outlet and the desk. The brick incorporates over-current, over-voltage, overload and short-circuit protection to safeguard the connected Surface and any USB device. No extra cables or software are bundled; the package contains only the charger and the mains lead.

Questions about this item

Will this 65W charger run my Surface Pro 11 alongside my older Surface Pro 4 without needing separate power bricks?

Yes, the 65W-A1706 delivers 15 V at 4 A (65 W) and also supports the 44 W and 36 W profiles used by Surface Pro 4 and earlier models, so one adapter covers both devices.

How can I confirm the charger is operating correctly once I plug it into my Surface Laptop 7?

The Surface charging LED on the magnetic connector will glow solid white when the 65 W output is active, and the USB-A port will simultaneously show 5 V 1 A for phone charging.

What comes in the box and is there anything else I must buy to start charging my Surface Book 3?

The package includes the 65 W power supply and a 16.2 ft AC power cord; no extra cables or adapters are required for Surface Book 3.
