24 GB DDR3 1066 ECC registered RDIMM kit for early Mac Pro and Xserve models
This 24GB kit contains three 8GB DDR3 1066 ECC registered DIMMs built for select Apple Mac Pro and Xserve models. The modules run at 1.50V and use major-brand chips validated for Mac systems. Each stick is a 240-pin RDIMM rated PC3-8500 with 2Rx4 organisation. The kit targets owners of compatible Mac Pro towers from 2009 to 2012 and Early 2009 Xserve units.
The memory fits Mac Pro models identified as MacPro4,1 and MacPro5,1 plus Xserve3,1, covering order numbers MB449LL/A, MB535LL/A, MB871LL/A, MC250LL/A, MC560LL/A, MC915LL/A, MC561LL/A, MD770LL/A and MD772LL/A. Buyers with later Mac Pro designs, iMac, MacBook or any non-Apple platform cannot use these registered DIMMs. Systems requiring unbuffered memory or a different DDR generation must look elsewhere.
The decisive specification is the DDR3 1066 (PC3-8500) ECC registered interface; the Mac Pro and Xserve memory controllers only accept this exact speed and signalling. Installing faster, slower or unbuffered modules will prevent boot or cause errors. Verify your model ID matches MacPro4,1, MacPro5,1 or Xserve3,1 before purchasing.
