Product Identity

The ABBREE AR-152A is a 108cm dual-band network antenna built for two-way radio operators who need extended range on VHF and UHF. It suits outdoor, camping and tactical users carrying compatible handheld transceivers.

Critical Specification

The antenna terminates in an SMA-Female connector and covers 144/430MHz with 5.0dBi gain, 50ohm impedance and VSWR below 1.5. Only radios equipped with an SMA-Male port and matching frequency coverage will work correctly.

Installation Reality

The soft, foldable 42.5-inch whip threads directly onto the radio and includes a rubber gasket for sealing. Its length makes it awkward in tight spaces and it can snag on gear; users often forget the gasket and lose weather protection.

Questions about this item

How much does the 5.0 dBi gain actually extend range on a handheld radio?

The 5.0 dBi gain focuses the signal more tightly than a stock rubber duck, giving noticeably better reach on VHF and UHF when the antenna has a clear line of sight.

What does the SMA-Female connector limit when attaching to a Baofeng or Kenwood?

The SMA-Female connector threads directly onto the SMA-Male jack found on most Baofeng and Kenwood handhelds; no adapter is needed, but the joint is not waterproof.

Will the 108 cm length fit inside a standard backpack or molle pouch?

At 108 cm the antenna is very long; it must be folded or carried externally on a pack strap or molle loop rather than stowed inside a typical compartment.
