Secure aluminium padlock for outdoor gates

The Abus padlock uses a chrome-plated aluminium body and a hardened steel shackle measuring 1-1/2 inches in height. A five-pin Abus keyway provides pick resistance while the weather-resistant finish protects the mechanism in exposed locations. Each lock is supplied with a unique key code so multiple units cannot be opened by the same key.

Fits standard hasps and chain links

The 1/4-inch shackle diameter and 7/8-inch internal width clear common gate hasps, chain links and locker latches without modification. A square body profile measuring 1 3/32 by 1 37/64 inches sits flush against flat mounting surfaces. No control key registration is required so the lock is ready to use immediately after installation.

No bundled accessories or software included

The package contains only the padlock body and its two cut keys. There are no spare shackles, lubricants or key-management tools supplied. Buyers who need master-keyed sets or rekeyable cylinders must source those components separately.

Questions about this item

How resistant is the 1/4 in steel shackle to sustained cutting attempts?

The 1/4 inch diameter steel shackle provides a solid physical barrier; its hardened steel construction resists hand tools and bolt cutters far longer than thinner shackles, though power tools will eventually defeat any padlock.

Does the chrome-plated aluminum body stay cool and quiet during constant outdoor exposure?

The lock has no moving parts that generate heat or noise; the aluminum body and chrome finish simply conduct ambient temperature and remain silent in all weather conditions.

Must I already have an Abus keyway key for this different-keyed padlock to operate?

No, the lock ships with its own unique pair of keys cut to the Abus keyway; no existing Abus keys or registration are required to use it.
