Two-piece fastener base for prong fasteners

ACCO model 12993 is a silver-gray base designed for economy prong fasteners. It accepts the compressor portion of two-piece fasteners with a 2.75" centre distance. Each box contains 100 bases for high-volume office filing. The durable construction suits everyday document binding.

Suits offices using two-piece prong fasteners

Buyers needing self-contained one-piece fasteners or a different centre-to-centre measurement should look elsewhere. Not compatible with fastener systems that use alternative prong spacing or integrated compressor designs. Ideal for replenishing existing two-piece fastener supplies.

2.75" centre spacing determines compatibility

The fixed 2.75" prong-to-prong distance only matches compressors built to that specification. A 2.00" capacity rating sets the maximum stack thickness the fastener can secure. Verify both figures against your current fastener components before ordering.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 100-count box of model 12993 or look for a different capacity?

The 100-count box of ACCO 12993 bases matches the 2.00" capacity prongs and 2.75" centre spacing, so it is the correct size for standard two-piece fasteners.

What does the 2.00" capacity mean when I am binding documents?

It means the base accepts prongs that hold up to 2.00 inches of stacked paper, giving a firm clamp for thick reports without bending the prongs.

How does the 2.75" centre measurement affect compatibility?

The 2.75" centre is the distance between the two prong holes; only compressor portions made to that same spacing will align and lock securely.
