Two-Inch Capacity Prong Bases

These metal prong bases form the foundation of ACCO two-piece file fasteners. Each box contains one hundred gray bases designed for binding correspondence, orders and general paperwork. The heavy-gauge construction provides the strength needed for repeated opening and closing.

Two-Inch Binding Limit

The bases accept prongs that hold up to two inches of paper, giving a secure book-like binding for thick reports or multi-part forms. Projects that exceed this thickness will require a different fastener size. The fixed 2 3/4 inch center-to-center spacing also limits use to matching ACCO prongs.

Prong Base Only

The package supplies bases alone; the locking prongs must be purchased separately. This allows you to replace worn bases or expand an existing system without buying complete fastener sets. The durable metal material resists bending during daily filing tasks.

Questions about this item

Will the 70023 prong bases work with the two-piece fasteners I already use for 2" capacity files?

Yes, these gray metal bases are designed for ACCO two-piece prong fasteners with a two-inch capacity and 2 3/4" center-to-center spacing.

How can I confirm the 70023 bases are locking correctly once installed?

The self-locking mechanism engages when the prongs pass through the base and spread; a secure, book-like bind that holds the full stack without slipping confirms proper function.

Does the box contain 100 complete fasteners or only the prong bases?

The box contains 100 prong bases only; the matching prong fasteners must be purchased separately.
