Replacement 65W Adapter for Acer Aspire

This genuine Acer AC adapter delivers 65 watts at 19 volts and 3.42 amps through a 5.5 by 1.7 mm barrel tip. It ships with a power cord and may arrive from Liteon, Delta or Chicony as Acer uses these brands interchangeably. The unit matches part numbers including PA-1650-86AW and A065R035L. It is intended for owners of compatible Aspire, TravelMate and V series laptops.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Buyers with a listed Aspire E, M, R, S, V, V5 or V7 model, or a TravelMate P243, P253, P453 or X483, can use this charger directly. Users whose laptop requires a different voltage, amperage or tip diameter cannot use this adapter. Anyone needing a higher-wattage supply for a gaming or workstation-class machine should look elsewhere.

The deciding specification: 5.5 x 1.7 mm tip

The barrel connector measures 5.5 millimetres outer diameter by 1.7 millimetres inner diameter. If the original charger on the target laptop uses a different tip size, this adapter will not fit regardless of matching voltage or wattage. Verify the tip dimensions on the existing unit before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does my laptop need a 5.5 x 1.7 mm barrel connector for this adapter to fit?

Yes, the tip measures 5.5 x 1.7 mm; only laptops with that exact barrel size will accept the plug.

Can I use this 65 W unit on an Acer TravelMate P243-M that originally shipped with a lower-wattage charger?

The adapter supplies 19 V at 3.42 A for 65 W, matching the TravelMate P243-M requirement, so it will power the notebook normally.

How can I verify the adapter is delivering the correct 19 V output after I plug it in?

Measure the centre pin and outer barrel with a multimeter set to DC volts; a reading near 19 V confirms the adapter is operating as specified.
