15.6" IPS FHD laptop for everyday work

The Acer Aspire 5 A515 uses a 15.6 inch IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 resolution and an Intel Core i3-1005G1 dual-core processor that runs between 1.20 GHz and 3.4 GHz. It ships with 4GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 10 Home in S Mode is pre-installed.

Upgraded storage and biometric login

The supplier opens the original box to install the 512GB NVMe drive, replacing the standard configuration. A fingerprint reader is integrated into the chassis for Windows Hello sign-in. An HDMI port, 720p webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth complete the connectivity set.

Suits students and office users needing a bright

This notebook fits buyers who want a large Full HD IPS display and fast NVMe storage for documents and streaming. It is not for buyers who want more than 4GB of memory for heavy multitasking, a dedicated graphics processor for gaming or creative rendering, or a touchscreen interface.

Questions about this item

Will the 4GB DDR4 memory need an upgrade for heavier multitasking?

The laptop ships with 4GB DDR4 soldered to the board; adding a second module in the single free slot can raise capacity to 12GB or 20GB for heavier workloads.

Does the Intel Core i3-1005G1 throttle under long compile or render sessions?

The dual-core 1.2–3.4 GHz chip will hit its thermal ceiling first during sustained all-core loads, causing clocks to settle near the base frequency.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the aluminium deck feel after a full workday?

Under light office use the fan is barely audible and the deck stays lukewarm; continuous heavy loads spin the fan higher and warm the palm-rest noticeably.
