Business desktop with i5-14400

The Acer Aspire TC-1775-UR11 is a compact business desktop built around a 10-core Intel Core i5-14400 processor with a 4.7 GHz maximum turbo frequency. It ships with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a dual-drive layout comprising a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD and a 2 TB 3.5-inch hard drive. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and the system includes a USB keyboard and mouse.

Who this suits

This configuration suits office workers, students and small-business users who need responsive everyday performance, fast boot times and ample local storage for documents and media. Integrated Intel UHD 730 graphics handles standard productivity and video playback without a discrete card. Buyers who need dedicated graphics for gaming, 3D rendering or GPU-accelerated workloads should consider a different system.

Deciding specification

The 300 W power supply is the limiting factor for future upgrades; it cannot support most discrete graphics cards or high-wattage components. If you anticipate adding a dedicated GPU or other power-hungry hardware, this chassis and PSU combination will not accommodate those changes.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1 TB NVMe or the 2 TB HDD for my main drive?

Use the 1 TB NVMe for the operating system and programmes — it loads Windows 11 Pro and apps much faster than the 2 TB HDD. Keep the HDD for large media libraries, backups and archives.

What does the i5-14400's 4.7 GHz boost actually deliver in daily work?

The 10-core processor hits 4.7 GHz on up to six performance cores for short bursts, so compiling code, large spreadsheet recalcs and video exports finish noticeably quicker than at the 2.50 GHz base clock.

Will the USB 3.2 Type-C port run at full NVMe speed with an external enclosure?

The front USB 3.2 Type-C port supports 10 Gbit/s, so a PCIe NVMe enclosure will be limited by that link rather than the drive itself.
