Compact Chrome OS desktop for education

The Acer CXI4 Chromebox pairs an Intel Core i7-10610U processor with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. It runs Google Chrome OS out of the box and is aimed at student labs, reception desks and home-office setups that rely on web apps and Android software. No monitor is included, so buyers supply their own display and peripherals.

Fan-cooled chassis runs quietly at typical workloads

The 1.80 GHz quad-core CPU handles browser tabs, video calls and document editing without spinning the fan to an audible level in a normal room. Power draw stays modest during everyday use, and the small footprint leaves desk space free for other equipment. Thermal throttling is not observed under sustained light-to-medium loads.

VESA mount bracket and Chrome Enterprise upgrade

A VESA mounting bracket ships in the box, letting IT teams attach the unit behind a compatible display for a cleaner deployment. Chrome Enterprise Upgrade can be added separately to enable centralised fleet management, kiosk mode and advanced security policies for organisations that need them.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Acer CXI4 Chromebox and what step is often missed?

Connect the power adapter, attach a monitor via the video output, plug in a keyboard and mouse, then sign in with a Google account; the step often missed is completing the Chrome OS enrolment for managed environments.

What maintenance or replacement will the CXI4 Chromebox need later?

The 16 GB DDR4 memory and 256 GB SSD are soldered, so no user-replaceable parts exist; keep vents clear of dust and rely on Chrome OS automatic updates for software maintenance.

What limit appears first on the CXI4 Chromebox during sustained workloads?

The Intel Core i7-10610U 1.8 GHz processor with Intel UHD Graphics will hit thermal throttling before the 16 GB RAM or 256 GB storage become bottlenecks.
