Compact Chrome OS desktop

The Acer CXI6-C38G is a small-form-factor desktop running Google Chrome OS with an Intel Core 3 100U processor. It ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB SSD, aimed at students and home-office users who need a simple, cloud-focused machine. No monitor is included in the box.

Connectivity and expansion

Two rear HDMI outputs and one DisplayPort allow up to three external displays without extra adapters. Seven USB ports provide a mix of Type-A and Type-C connections, including one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port. A 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet jack, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 handle wired and wireless networking.

Sustained operation

The 90 W power supply feeds the low-power Intel Core 3 100U and integrated Intel Graphics, keeping thermal output modest during long work sessions. Passive airflow through the 1.7-inch-high chassis is designed for continuous uptime in quiet environments. Buyers who need discrete graphics, large local storage arrays or Windows application compatibility should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 90 W power supply limit performance during long workloads?

The 90 W supply powers the Core 3 100U and all ports, so sustained use stays within that budget.

How loud or hot does the CXI6-C38G get when it runs all day?

The compact 1.7-inch chassis uses passive cooling; surfaces become warm but remain safe to touch and there is no fan noise.

Which display cable do I need to start using the Chromebox?

You need an HDMI or DisplayPort cable to connect a monitor; the box has two HDMI outputs and one DisplayPort output.
