Acer M501 Wireless Mouse 1600 DPI

The Acer M501 is a wireless mouse designed for everyday computing with Chromebooks and PCs. It uses a 2.4GHz wireless link via a small USB receiver. The ambidextrous shape suits both left- and right-handed users. It is certified under the Works With Chromebook programme for guaranteed compatibility.

1600 DPI optical sensor

The single specification that determines fit is the fixed 1600 DPI sensor. This sensitivity level handles general office work, web browsing and light creative tasks without adjustment. Users who need on-the-fly DPI switching or higher precision for competitive gaming will find this sensor limiting.

Comfortable for daily office use

The mouse comfortably handles standard productivity workloads across multiple monitors. It runs out of headroom for fast-paced gaming or detailed design work that demands adjustable sensitivity or programmable buttons. The fixed 1600 DPI setting covers baseline navigation needs only.

Questions about this item

What does the 1600 DPI setting actually feel like on screen?

The 1600 DPI sensor moves the cursor 1600 counts per inch of hand travel, giving a brisk but controllable speed for everyday office work and web browsing.

How does the 2.4 GHz wireless link limit range or latency?

The 2.4 GHz radio uses a small USB receiver; typical indoor range is a few metres with latency low enough that most users notice no delay versus a wired mouse.

What does the ambidextrous shape need to fit my hand?

The symmetrical shell suits left or right hands and accommodates claw, fingertip or palm grips without requiring a specific hand size.
