Predator 17.3 with Core i7-6700HQ

This 17.3 inch gaming laptop pairs a quad-core Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card carrying 6 GB GDDR5 memory. It runs Windows 11 Home on 16 GB DDR4 RAM split across two modules. Storage combines a 256 GB NVMe SSD and a 1 TB HDD.

Best for 1080p gaming on a large IPS panel

The 1920 x 1080 IPS display with G-SYNC suits players who want smooth visuals on a big screen without scaling issues. Thunderbolt 3 and multiple USB 3.0 ports handle docks and peripherals. Buyers needing higher refresh rates, newer GPU architectures or a smaller form factor should look elsewhere.

GTX 1060 6 GB decides fit for modern titles

The 6 GB GDDR5 frame buffer is the limiting factor for texture-heavy games at 1080p and blocks entry to many current ray-traced titles. If your library demands more video memory or newer rendering features, this GPU will not keep up.

Questions about this item

Will the 17.3 inch 1920 x 1080 IPS panel run G-SYNC with the GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5?

Yes, the display supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and the dedicated GTX 1060 with 6 GB GDDR5 drives it directly for tear-free gaming.

Can I add more DDR4 memory later or is the 16 GB soldered?

The 16 GB ships as two 8 GB DDR4 modules, so slots are occupied but removable; you can swap for higher-capacity sticks if needed.

Does the USB Type-C port carry Thunderbolt 3 and DisplayPort video out?

The single USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C connector includes Thunderbolt 3 support and can drive an external display via DisplayPort alt-mode.
