What the Nitro 16S delivers

The Acer Nitro 16S is a 16 inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 8-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 32GB DDR5 4800 RAM and a 2TB PCIe SSD, running Windows 11 Pro on a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA panel at 180Hz. The chassis measures 14.05 by 10.85 by 0.83 inches and weighs 4.8 pounds in black.

Ports and connectivity to verify

Check that your peripherals match the available ports: one HDMI 2.1 FRL, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A at 10Gbps, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort and power delivery at 10Gbps, one Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort, power delivery and G-SYNC at 40Gbps, one RJ45 LAN jack and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Wireless uses Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth. There is no SD card reader.

Thermals under sustained load

The slim 0.83 inch profile and 4.8 pound weight constrain cooling capacity, so extended gaming or compute sessions will push fan speeds higher than short bursts. The 180Hz display and RTX 5060 can sustain high frame rates, but surface temperatures on the keyboard deck and underside will rise noticeably during prolonged workloads. Ensure the rear and side vents remain unobstructed on your desk.

Questions about this item

What is included in the box and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the Nitro 16S laptop with the Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, RTX 5060 graphics, 32GB DDR5 memory and 2TB PCIe SSD already installed, plus the power adapter and documentation. No extra memory, storage or core components need to be bought separately.

Which configuration should I choose for the processor, graphics and memory?

This model ships in a single configuration: the 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 running up to 5 GHz, the RTX 5060 with 8GB GDDR7 video memory, and 32GB of DDR5 4800 system memory paired with a 2TB PCIe SSD.

What does the 180 Hz figure mean when I am actually gaming on the 16 inch screen?

The 16 inch WUXGA panel refreshes at 180 Hz, so fast-paced titles can display up to 180 frames per second for smoother motion, provided the RTX 5060 can sustain those frame rates at 1920 x 1200 resolution.
