Adds a 1 Gbps wired network port to USB-C devices using an aluminium RTL8153B dongle
The Acer ODK440 Origin adapter adds a gigabit Ethernet port to any device with a USB-C socket. It targets laptop, tablet and phone users who need a stable wired link instead of spotty Wi-Fi. Plug-and-play operation means no driver installation on supported systems.
An aluminium shell dissipates heat while keeping weight low for travel. The reinforced RJ45 and USB-C ports resist wear from frequent insertion. Two status LEDs give immediate link and activity feedback for quick troubleshooting. Thunderbolt 3/4 compatibility extends the range of host devices.
This adapter replaces a missing onboard Ethernet port or an older 100 Mbps dongle. The jump to 1 Gbps is worthwhile when transferring large files, streaming high-bitrate video or gaming over a wired LAN. A Cat6 or better cable is required to reach the rated throughput.

It uses a USB-C connector with Thunderbolt 3/4 compatibility and the RTL8153B chip to deliver up to 1 Gbps, falling back to 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps when the link negotiates lower.
The 40 g aluminum dongle plugs directly into a USB-C port; reaching 1 Gbps requires a CAT6 or better Ethernet cable, otherwise it will negotiate 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps.
Plug it into a USB-C port on Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7/XP/Vista, Linux, macOS, Chrome OS, iPadOS or Android — no driver install needed — but remember to use a CAT6 or higher cable if you want the full 1 Gbps link.
