24-unit balanced armature IEM

The KZ AST 24 uses twelve balanced armature drivers per earpiece to deliver detailed high-frequency response and natural vocal reproduction. It is aimed at musicians and audiophiles who need accurate in-ear monitoring. A detachable 2-pin 0.75 mm cable with inline microphone is included for stage or mobile use.

Zinc alloy shells and extended listening

Each earpiece is machined from zinc alloy to a tolerance of 0.03 mm and hand-polished for a smooth curved surface. The rigid construction reduces unwanted resonance during long sessions. The ergonomic shape follows the cochlear contour to maintain comfort and passive isolation over sustained wear.

Detachable cable and fit considerations

The 2-pin 0.75 mm connector allows quick cable replacement or upgrade without tools. A secure seat is required to avoid intermittent contact; some users find the small pins tight on first insertion. The included microphone cable adds call functionality but adds slight weight at the Y-split.

Questions about this item

How much isolation from outside noise does the ergonomic zinc-alloy shell give during long listening sessions?

The ergonomic shell is shaped to match the ear cochlea and is machined to a tolerance of ±0.03 mm, which greatly isolates external noise during extended wear.

What source connector is required for the detachable 2-pin 0.75 mm cable with inline microphone?

The cable uses a 2-pin 0.75 mm connector on the earpiece side and terminates in a standard TRRS plug for devices with a combined headphone/microphone jack.

Will the 24 balanced-armature drivers work properly with a portable player that has a higher output impedance?

Balanced-armature designs generally present a consistent load, so the 24-unit array performs well across a wide range of source output impedances without significant tonal shift.
