12V Plastic Water Solenoid Valve

This 12V plastic water solenoid valve controls liquid flow in robotic gardening and automation projects. It features two 1/2" Nominal non-taped National Pipe outlets and operates with single-direction flow. The valve remains closed until voltage is applied to the terminals. It is designed for builders who need electronic fluid control in low-pressure systems.

Sustained pressure performance

The valve requires a minimum pressure of 0.02 Mpa (3 PSI) to operate due to its internal gasket arrangement. It functions within a working pressure range of 0.02 Mpa to 0.8 Mpa and a temperature range of 1 to 75 degrees. Response times are 0.15 seconds to open and 0.3 seconds to close under standard 12VDC actuation. It is not suited for zero-pressure or gravity-fed systems that cannot meet the minimum pressure threshold.

1/2" NPS interface limits

The 1/2" Nominal Pipe Size outlets accept standard NPS fittings without tapered threads. The valve actuates at the rated 12VDC but can operate down to 6VDC with slower opening speed. Driving the coil requires a TIP120 or N-Channel power FET with a 1N4001 kickback diode for microcontroller compatibility. Reverse flow is prevented by the single-direction design, limiting installation orientation.
