A miniature wearable microcontroller board with 256K flash, 32K RAM, 48 MHz 32-bit processor and native USB for Arduino IDE or CircuitPython projects
The Adafruit GEMMA M0 is a round microcontroller board about the size of a quarter designed for wearable electronics projects. It features an ATSAMD21E18 processor running at 48 MHz with 256K of FLASH and 32K of RAM. The board maintains the same form-factor and pinout as the classic Gemma. It operates on 3.3V logic and power.
Verify that your project can operate within the 3.3V logic level provided by the board. Ensure your development environment supports either the Arduino IDE or CircuitPython for programming. Confirm that your operating system recognises native USB devices for direct connection. Check that the alligator-clip sew pads suit your intended conductive thread or connection method.
The board ships with CircuitPython pre-installed and appears as a small disk drive when plugged in via native USB. This allows immediate code editing of the main.py file using any text editor without requiring a separate compiler toolchain. The Arduino IDE remains an alternative development option. Native USB support works across every major operating system without extra drivers.

The board uses alligator-clip sew pads instead of headers, so no headers or cables are included; you only need a USB cable for power and programming.
No, every unit has 256K of FLASH, 32K of RAM and a 48 MHz 32-bit ATSAMD21E18 processor.
It runs six times faster than the ATtiny85 at 85 MHz equivalent performance, giving quicker response for sensors and LEDs while keeping 3.3 V logic.
