Core specification

This desktop combines a 24-core Intel Core i9-14900K processor with 64GB of DDR5 memory and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. It targets creators and engineers who need strong multi-threaded compute for rendering, modelling and AI workloads alongside high-frame-rate gaming.

Chassis and connectivity

The CoolerMaster HAF 500 tower uses a 360mm liquid cooler for the CPU, front 200mm ARGB fans and a rear 120mm ARGB fan to move air through tempered-glass panels. A Thermaltake Smart 850W 80 PLUS Bronze unit powers the build. The Gigabyte Z790 AORUS motherboard provides rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, multiple USB 3.2 Gen 1 and 2.0 ports, 2.5Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus four M.2 slots and six SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID support.

Upgrade context

The 1TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive and 10TB hard drive replace smaller boot drives and secondary storage pools that bottleneck large project files. The 64GB DDR5 kit fills half the board’s four slots, leaving room to reach the 192GB maximum when datasets grow. The RTX 5070 12GB steps up from mid-range cards that lack the VRAM headroom for 4K textures and GPU-accelerated AI tasks.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation does the 1TB Samsung 990 PRO SSD use, and what sequential read speed does it reach?

The SSD runs on PCIe 4.0 x4 and delivers up to 7450 MB/sec sequential read.

What are the internal drive bay counts and the case dimensions?

The CoolerMaster HAF 500 provides two 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch internal bays in a 508 x 203 x 508 mm chassis.

How is the CPU cooler mounted, and which step is often missed?

The 360 mm AIO radiator screws to the case with included brackets; the step often missed is connecting the pump header and ARGB cable to the motherboard before securing the block.
