Ryzen 7 9800X3D Gaming Workstation

This new desktop pairs an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with a Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. It ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory and an 8TB NVMe storage array built from two Samsung 990 PRO drives. A 240mm liquid cooler and 850W power supply complete the tower build.

8TB Dual-Drive NVMe Storage

The system provides 8TB of total solid-state capacity across two 4TB M.2 modules running on a PCIe 4.0 interface. Sequential reads reach 7450 MB/s and writes reach 6900 MB/s. Four M.2 connectors on the motherboard allow further expansion up to the board limit.

Suits Creators Needing Large Fast Storage

Video editors and 3D artists who need multi-terabyte scratch space on a single boot drive will benefit from the dual 990 PRO configuration. Buyers who want more storage bays for mechanical drives should look elsewhere, as the chassis only includes two 3.5-inch mounts and no 5.25-inch bays.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.7 GHz base clock on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D mean for everyday workloads?

The 4.7 GHz base clock gives strong single-thread responsiveness for gaming and productivity, while the 8-core, 16-thread design handles multi-tasking across the 64 GB DDR5 memory.

How does the PCI Express x16 graphics interface limit the Radeon RX 9070 XT in this build?

The board wires the GPU through a PCI Express x16 slot, so the Radeon RX 9070 XT runs at full x16 bandwidth with no lane-sharing bottleneck.

Will the 240 mm liquid cooler and Antec P20 case clear the motherboard and power supply?

The 240 mm AIO mounts in the Antec P20 mid-tower, which supports E-ATX boards and has room for the Thermaltake 850 W PSU alongside the front 120 mm fans.
