16-core liquid-cooled workstation

This Adamant Custom tower pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory, an 8TB NVMe SSD array and a 10TB hard drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the system.

Upgrading from air-cooled or lower-core builds

The 360mm liquid cooler sustains higher boost clocks on the 4.3GHz CPU than standard air cooling allows. The jump is worth it when workloads need sustained multi-thread throughput or when the 16GB GPU frame buffer becomes the limiting factor in rendering tasks.

Build integration and expansion

The X870 TUF motherboard provides four memory slots supporting up to 192GB total capacity. Two M.2 slots are occupied by the 4TB Samsung 990 PRO drives, leaving two additional M.2 connectors free. The 1200W 80 PLUS Gold power supply delivers headroom for the GPU and storage array.

Questions about this item

What case clearance does the 360 mm liquid cooler require for this tower?

The Antec P20 mid-tower measures 469 mm deep, 220 mm wide and 490 mm high and has top dust filters, so the 360 mm radiator mounts in the roof with standard 120 mm fan spacing.

Which power cables must be connected to the RTX 5080 during build?

The Thermaltake Toughpower 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold unit supplies native 12V-2x6 leads; plug both into the GPU before routing the 24-pin and EPS cables to the TUF X870-PLUS board.

How many M.2 slots remain free after the two 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO drives are installed?

The X870-PLUS provides four M.2 connectors; two are occupied by the factory NVMe SSDs, leaving two open for future PCIe 4.0 x4 storage upgrades.
