Core configuration

This desktop pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor with an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card and 32GB of DDR5 memory. A 360mm liquid cooler keeps the CPU stable under sustained load. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro installed on a 1TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive.

Upgrade path

The platform uses an AM5 socket motherboard with four memory slots and supports up to 192GB of DDR5. Builders moving from an older AM4 system gain a modern socket, PCIe 4.0 storage speeds and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. The 850W power supply provides headroom for a future GPU swap without immediate PSU replacement.

Workload fit

The 1TB NVMe drive delivers sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s for fast game loads and project opens. Sixteen GPU gigabytes and 32GB system memory handle 1440p and 4K gaming plus moderate creative work. Users needing multi-terabyte local libraries or heavy multi-GPU compute will outgrow the single drive bay and single card slot.

Questions about this item

What case dimensions and motherboard form factor must the chassis support for this build?

The Antec P20 mid-tower measures 469 x 220 x 490 mm and accepts E-ATX motherboards such as the included GIGABYTE X870 AORUS board.

How is the 360 mm liquid cooler mounted, and which orientation step is often missed?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO radiator attaches to the top of the case with three 120 mm fans; the pump must sit lower than the radiator top so air cannot trap in the block.

Which storage slots remain free for future SSD upgrades after the 1 TB Samsung 990 PRO is installed?

The X870 motherboard provides four M.2 connectors; one holds the 1 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 drive, leaving three M.2 slots open for additional NVMe SSDs.
