Workstation for professional workloads

This tower workstation targets professionals who need a liquid-cooled platform for compute-intensive tasks. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory. The 24-core Threadripper 9960X and RTX PRO 5000 48GB GPU handle rendering, simulation and AI workloads. Buyers needing a compact form factor or integrated graphics should look elsewhere.

24-core Threadripper 9960X processor

The CPU provides 24 cores and 48 threads with a 4.2GHz base clock and up to 5.3GHz boost. A 360mm liquid cooler manages thermals for sustained operation. The sTR5 platform supports 128GB of DDR5 ECC across eight channels. Workloads that do not scale beyond a few threads will not use the full core count.

Sustained load with liquid cooling

The 360mm AIO and 1200W 80 PLUS Gold supply deliver stable power and thermal headroom during long runs. NVMe storage reaches 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write for rapid dataset access. 10GbE LAN moves large files between nodes without bottleneck. Systems without adequate airflow or power capacity cannot maintain these rates.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.2 GHz base clock mean when the Threadripper 9960X is under a sustained workload?

The 4.2 GHz base clock is the guaranteed minimum frequency across all 24 cores; the processor can boost up to 5.3 GHz on fewer cores depending on thermal headroom and power limits.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface cap the Samsung 990 PRO SSDs in this system?

Each M.2 SSD runs at PCIe 4.0 x4, limiting sequential reads to 7450 MB/s and writes to 6900 MB/s even though the drives support higher speeds on newer platforms.

Will the 360 mm liquid cooler and Corsair 5000D frame accommodate the Threadripper sTR5 socket and full-height GPU?

Yes, the 360 mm AIO is mounted on the sTR5 socket, and the 5000D frame provides clearance for the RTX PRO 5000 48 GB graphics card and all internal drive bays.
