Purpose-built workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 24-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X processor with 128GB DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia Geforce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB graphics card. It targets professionals who need certified stability for rendering, simulation or AI workloads in a single desktop chassis. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and the system is labelled AI Ready by the builder.

Thermals and power

A 360mm Quiet Edition liquid CPU cooler handles the Threadripper 9960X heat output while a 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with a 140mm low-noise fan supplies the platform. The Corsair 5000D Frame case adds front and rear 120mm fans for chassis airflow. Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protections are built into the power supply.

Deciding specification

The 24-core CPU with 48 threads and a 5.3 GHz maximum boost clock is the single figure that determines whether this workstation matches the parallel throughput your software licences require. If your code scales beyond that thread count you will need a higher-core processor; if it scales below, the extra cores sit idle.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 360mm liquid cooler on the sTR5 socket, and what step is often missed?

Mount the supplied Threadripper bracket, apply paste, seat the cold-plate evenly, then tighten the four captive screws in a cross pattern; the step most people skip is removing the protective film from the cold-plate base before seating it.

What maintenance will the liquid cooling loop and the 10TB HDD need later?

The sealed 360mm AIO requires no coolant top-ups; only clean the radiator fins and 120mm fans periodically. The 10TB SATA HDD has no user-serviceable parts — keep backups current and monitor SMART health via Windows.

What limit appears first during sustained all-core loads on the 24-core 4.2GHz Threadripper 9960X?

The 360mm Quiet Edition AIO reaches its thermal saturation point before the CPU hits its 5.3GHz boost ceiling, so clock speeds settle at the all-core level once coolant temperature stabilises.
